Total Prize Pool
$50 million
The Patch Forward Prize expects to award $50 million in prizes across three stages. The Concept Stage will be open to all eligible entrants. The Preclinical Stage and Clinical Stage will be open to all eligible entrants who are accepted into each respective stage.
Award amounts
Concept Stage:
$8 million
The total prize pool for the Concept Stage is $8 million. Up to four Concept Stage winners will each receive a $2 million Concept Stage award.
Preclinical Stage:
$21 million
The total prize pool for the Preclinical Stage is $21 million. Up to three Preclinical Stage winners will each receive a $7 million Preclinical Stage award.
Clinical Stage:
$21 million
The total prize pool for the Clinical Stage is $21 million. Up to two Clinical Stage winners will each receive a $10.5 million Clinical Stage award.
Note: BARDA reserves the right to reallocate unawarded funding at its discretion, including but not limited to redistributing funds and making additional awards at any stage of the competition.
